Consulting

A wide range of consulting services are available from projects and initiatives of many sizes.

The target audience is small to medium range companies up to 500 employees looking to implement changes and/or systems to become more profitable.

Multiple areas of expertise allow to manage improvements by revising existing processes and/or implementing new systems or enhancing existing systems. Listed below are some of the examples of past projects, but the list is not all inclusive:
  • Implementation of ERP systems
  • Implementation of a Lean Manufacturing initiative
  • Launching a new website for a company
  • Streamlining Supply Chain design and operation
  • Leading a production line productivity enhancement within a Total Quality initiative
  • Gathering business requirements from stakeholders and translating them to technical specifications for the IT development Team
  • Developing a DRP system in a local database application
  • Developing multi-user applications in MS-Access to provide support in Gap areas not covered by existing MRP systems
  • Implementing a MPS/MRP process
  • Developing processes and supporting systems to ensure regulatory compliance
The main focus on these projects, especially in those related to improving the process and/or the operation of a company is the search for Value Added.

Based in the APICS definition of Value Added, when using this approach different activities and processes are classified in three groups according to their value added and they are selected for different actions based on their group:

 Activity or process adds value
(from the customer’s point of view)
Activity is essential for the operation
(Regulatory)
 Action in redesign
Yes
Example: transforming raw materials and components into a product
Enhance design and efficiency.
Bring as much of these activities as possible when they are the source of profit
 No Yes
Example: Calculating Taxes
Simplify, automate and run them as light as possible. Guarantee correct function.
No  No  Target for elimination
This approach avoids the common mistake of cutting functions that will hurt the overall operation of the company. A common mistake of the traditional cost-cutting approaches,
Together with the methodology described in the page “About” of Aligning Processes, Systems and People toward Success”, the goal is to create a more profitable organization.

Additional support for consulting firms who need to partner with a seasoned consultant to add hands to an existing project will also be considered.
